A note on swearing in
Sharing a few thoughts with you on my swearing in to the Palmer Lake Board of Trustees Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Gratitude
While affirming my duties to the US Constitution, Colorado Constitution, and the laws of the town of Palmer Lake, I felt a great sense of gratitude, as well as pride, for this amazing small town. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Palmer Lake and, in a sense, the entire Tri-Lakes community — perhaps even beyond.
I am also deeply grateful for supporters and people who put their confidence in me with their votes and volunteerism.

Continuing to work for citizens
Upon getting elected, we often hear politicians say that they’re “ready to go to work.” I don’t see this election as the start of my work — I want you to know that I’m simply continuing the work I’ve already been doing for you, the citizens. Serving as a Trustee just gives me different ways to help our community.
One of the ways I have worked for you is to lead the petition effort to enable people to have a greater influence on the town’s land annexation decisions. I’m happy to share that the very first ordinance I motioned to adopt was the one you voted for on September 9 — giving you, the citizens, the power to decide on land annexations in the town of Palmer Lake. The ordinance will take effect on October 30, 2025.
Celebrate, but remain engaged
Just before my swearing-in last Thursday, our community gathered for a beautiful outdoor reception on the Village Green by Town Hall. It was a perfect autumn afternoon, full of friends, supporters, music, food, and plenty of good cheer. The event welcomed not only Palmer Lake residents, but also neighbors from Woodmoor, Monument, and even a few local leaders from nearby towns. The turnout was a wonderful reminder of the unity and healing that’s possible when our communities come together.
While celebration is important, it’s just as important to remain engaged with what’s next. Be sure to keep an eye on the town’s web site, especially those agendas for the Board of Trustees. I’m counting on you to help me be your voice and I need you to be there with me every step of the way!
